Literature Text

Upon Entering the tower Wallace could hear the cries and wails of people wafting about the room. He just stepped up to the counter to talk to the receptionist, and she was already addressing him, "I'm sorry young man, but the memorial service of the day has just concluded. You may come back tomorrow afternoon, as we'll be holding another then."

Wallace sighs, but nods his acknowledgment, and nearly whispers his thanks.

Quietly making his way up the stairs Wallace emerges from the stair case to the second floor, it's wide open expanse is littered with tombstones. There are a few people scattered about, hunched over or kneeling beside the tombstones. Some whispering in hushed tones, others quietly weeping, but most still and silent. The smell of incense wafts about in the air.

Weaving his way through the tombstones and grievers Wallace finds himself standing in front of a Channeler standing next to the staircase leading to the next floor.

However, when he makes a move toward the staircase she steps in front of him to block him, "There are wild Pokémon and spirits in the upper levels. One should not venture further without a Silph Scope to identify the ghosts. The spirits seem to have a liking for taking on human guises to frighten and fool those who enter."

Wallace's mouth tightens before he speaks, "Where can I get one."

"You may try the Silp Co. building itself, in Saffron. I do not believe it is widely available for distribution yet, but it is available."

Wallace quietly thanks her for the information and is about to turn to leave before she motions to him.

"Though, I do ask to test your strength as a trainer. To see if you can handle yourself up there." Pulling out a Pokéball the chaneller keeps her gaze fixed on Wallace.

Looking her over Wallaces moves to grab one of his own Pokéballs, "I suppose I can't say no. You gave me some good information, and a test of strength sounds good to me. I'm hoping you will be more of a challenge than the trainers on Route 8."

"Hmph. Such arrogance in one so young."

Again, I don't have a beta.
This is mostly just for fun at this point.

Wow... very short I know. Two short updates alright? [I didn't want to break the flow by merging both POV's into one chapter, so separate updates.]

This still seems to be turning out different from what I expected!

I used to be pretty against present tense, but after reading some recent fics and this, I've really warmed up to it. Last quotation is pricelesss.
